news 31.03.2010 Heavy cargo handling in Krefeld harbour |
| |
When three heavy goods logistics firms work together, it can only lead to something big.
Viktor Baumann, Riga Mainz and Breuer & Wasel all pulled together for the return of a generator stator to the manufacturer’s factory in Poland.
The transportation and handling of a 454-tonne generator stator was planned and implemented within 14 days.
Lifting out at the power station with a cable lifting system and loading on to an SPMT, transportation to the sidings, rail transportation to Krefeld harbour.
For the handling and onward transportation to Rotterdam, our LR 1600/2 took the stator and lifted it with its total load of 484 tonnes into the river barge.

news 30.03.2010 Flue assembly at EGK in Krefeld |
| |
| At the waste incineration plant in Krefeld, replacement boiler 2 incl. a flue gas purification system is presently undergoing installation.
This boiler is intended as a replacement for the three existing old boilers from 1975 and 1982, which were no longer able to provide long-term waste disposal assurances for reasons of age.
The new boiler contains an inherent flue gas cleaning system, with denitrification integrated into the boiler itself.
With a boiler always being accompanied by a flue, our LTM 1350-6.1 travelled from the
Duisburg branch at the end of March 2010 specifically to erect this structure.
The flue was produced by the Danish company Steelcon and erected in three segments. In order to lift the final segment, the crane was equipped with a mast guy and 12m main boom extension.
The 70m high flue was erected over a period of three days as planned, and is now ready for commissioning. |

news 11.03.2010 B&W transports a UFO... |
| |
Not entirely the truth, but that's what it looked like...
The load was in fact a 35 ton heavy bucket wheel body that we transported from the main RWE factory in Grefrath to the Inden open-cast mine. With a 7.5 m
diameter and standing 3.6 m high, the transportation project
was an interesting one for B&W.
The bucket wheel body will be
assembled into a complete bucket wheel at the open-cast mine
and we are scheduled to lift it into excavator 258 during week 18.
